About Janelle
Hi there! I’m Janelle. I’m an intern therapist in my final year studying somatic therapy at Naropa University. I am heart-centered, creative, often weird and a little bit wild – qualities shaped by my own healing journey through grief, disconnection, and the pain of not always being accepted as I am. Knowing what it takes to work with my own darkness and heaviness, I strive to bring warmth, perspective, and deep respect for the courage it takes to embark on this journey.
In our work together, I use a relational approach, weaving somatic awareness, movement, mindfulness, and nervous system repair practices to help mend the mind–body connection, shift out of survival patterns, and build capacity to stay embodied in what matters most to you. My focus areas include grief work, supporting late-diagnosed or neurodivergent women in self-discovery, couples therapy, relational and communication skills, anxiety and depression, existential concerns related to climate and culture, and group work on nervous system repair.
I don’t believe therapy is about “fixing”, but about staying present with what is – the beauty, the joy, the sadness, the fear, and all the complexities of being human. I also recognize that we live within oppressive systems, and that some of the barriers and impacts of marginalization are outside of our control. At the same time, I believe in the power of intentional action: when we attend to justice as part of healing, we create conditions for both personal and collective repair. Together, we will create a steady, compassionate container that offers solid ground for exploration and growth.
